Although there is a huge amount of evidence that the Genesis flood was global, the Bible actually predicts that a day will come when the Genesis flood will be rejected, even by scholars. This event is to take place in the last days. Second Peter 3:3-6 in the New Testament predicts:
“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.”2 Peter 3:3-6
The phrase, “all things are continuing as they were from the beginning,” is a first-century description of the doctrine of uniformitarianism (the idea of slow and gradual sedimentary and erosional processes). The New International Version translates the phrase “it escapes their notice” as “they deliberately forget.”
The Greek implies a willful ignoring of evidence.
Prophecy says people in the last days will deliberately forget and ignore the evidence that a Biblical flood destroyed the original creation. Scientists have deliberately ignored the Genesis flood for the past 200 years!
Most opposition to a Global flood is from those who have already decided about origins before they examined the evidence.1
A Global flood, as recorded in Genesis, washes away the evolutionists’ millions-of-years of time that supposedly make up the rock layers.
If we can’t trust the Bible where it records a Global flood which can be investigated by science, why would we expect anyone to believe the Bible when it speaks of spiritual and moral matters.
“If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?”John 3:12
